Street Photography

Saturday 25 May
Brick Lane - 10am - 2 Hours
Samira Hatamizadeh
People, cafes, vendors, street merchants, buskers, historic buildings, art installations and much more. The power of observation underpins the art of great street photography. Learning to "see" interesting detail is a practised skill and we introduce you to easy methods that will open your photographer's eye and expose you to a world that is alive with detail. The most rewarding part of the class is learning how to approach interesting people and have them willingly pose for you.

We will also go over settings, focusing techniques and lens choices common to street photography to help us capture those random chance encounters.

Nature Photography Meetup

Saturday 06 July
Crossrail Place - 10am - 2 Hours
Samira Hatamizadeh
Join this session for tips on how to use your camera settings to creatively capture nature in a visually interesting way. We will be looking at composition, focus, and colour.

Many professional offices and places of business have large prints gracing their wall space of things such as fields of flowers, a butterfly perched on a leaf, and a single dew drop on a rose petal. These beautiful images are all around us in nature. It just takes that special "eye" to not only see it but to capture it in a way that will turn that simple little piece of nature into a beautiful piece of art. We will learn how to use different angles, light and shadows, and settings to make subjects pop.

    I am Samira.
For ten years, I have shared everything I have learned and experienced about photography as a photography instructor, which makes me happy.
I started photography by taking pictures of beautiful nature. After experiencing different genres of photography such as fashion, advertising, portrait, and ..., I am mostly fascinated with street and urban photography.
Photography has always been the most significant personal way of dealing with the world around me, which enables me to feel the world without a come-between, even without a camera!
My educational background has been in Visual Communication and Visual Anthropology, and I am currently based in London.

This was the day of famous Northern Lights visible in most of the North America. Stubs Stewart is the most ideal dark area for star gazing so I reached there around 11pm. As expected, it was full of enthusiasts. The lights were predicted to be at peak between 10pm - 2am. Around 2pm, when we though the "show was over", the lights started getting incredibly bright, and that is when this picture was taken. Interestingly, the lights were bright in some regions and other regions were faded enough to

Last February, I left Sydney with my friends at 6pm to capture the first Milky Way view of 2024. I was very anxious because I saw a lot of clouds on the way, but I was really happy to see clear skies as I passed Newcastle. When we arrived at the lighthouse, fortunately we were the only ones in the group, so we were able to take photos without any disturbance. The lighthouse light, which was not too bright, was very helpful in filming.

I went home and grabbed my camera and equipment and went to Vancouver Lake not sure if I could capture anything. I was pleasantly surprised when I was able to capture photos. This is just one of many pleasant surprises from that evening, enjoy.
